Experience the very best of Cornish village life by escaping to this lovingly furnished three-bedroom cottage nestled in the sleepy rural village of Pendeen. With countless footpaths from the doorstep taking in Cornwall’s rich coast and mining history, this is the ultimate getaway for couples and families looking to leave behind the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The crackle of the roaring wood burner, comfy plush sofa, and hearty homely touches everywhere you look in the lounge create a cosy ambience that invites you to unwind. The generous country cottage-style kitchen/diner perfectly combines a delightful coastal colour palette with everything you need to rustle up a delicious locally sourced feast. Upstairs, each of the three bedrooms, one king-size and two singles, features charming exposed wooden floorboards, plenty of natural sunlight and crisp linens that’ll soothe you into a peaceful rest before tomorrow’s adventure. Make the most of your fresh, countryside air by dining alfresco in the enclosed courtyard; after sundown, enjoy a glass of something chilled as you stargaze way past bedtime.
Nestled in an area synonymous with Cornwall’s mining history, Pendeen boasts several historic stone miner’s cottages and an award-winning pub. Keen walkers can conquer the heather-clad moors to the impressive Carn Kenidjack 2 miles away, a rocky outcrop rising 650ft above sea level. On the Land's End peninsula, stroll around the 19th-century Pendeen Lighthouse (1.5 miles) to be rewarded with breathtaking views across the coastline and secluded coves below. High up on the exposed cliffs of the 'Tin Coast', part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, discover Levant Mine (1.5 miles) featuring a restored 1840s beam engine running on steam, open Sunday to Thursday.
