Abbey Cottage is charming and characterful cottage situated in the heart of the picturesque market town of Buckfastleigh, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, South Devon. Tastefully decorated and furnished throughout and with many additional thoughtful touches, guests are offered a comfortable stay all year round. With three log burner affect electric stoves within, guests will find it easy to keep warm and cosy when the cooler months roll in, relaxing with a favourite movie or current series on the smart TV. When the warmer weather appears, enjoy morning coffees and evening sundowners in the rear courtyard garden.

Perfect for visitors looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the cottage is the ideal place to base yourself whilst exploring and enjoying the sights of the local area, including the spectacular Benedictine Buckfast Abbey, many countryside walks and interesting historic moorland villages.

Ground Floor:

Front door to sitting room.

Sitting room with 3-seater sofa (converts to 4ft double sofa bed), an armchair, electric fire, smart TV and doorway to dining area and kitchen.

Dining area with table and chairs to seat 4 and electric fire.

Kitchen with Cookmaster gas hob and oven, fridge, freezer, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, door to back yard and doorway to stairs to first floor.

First Floor:

Family bathroom with bath and separate walk-in shower, basin and WC.

Bedroom 1 with 4.6ft double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and electric fire.

Outside

There is a small gravelled courtyard garden to the rear of the property with an outside store cupboard and a gate to allow access via the rear of the property.

Parking

There is no designated parking with the property, however there are numerous streets with unrestricted parking within a 5 minute walk away (for example Bossell Rd, New Rd and Chapel St), as well as two local council car parks both just a few minutes’ walk from the property – Mardleway Car Park and Station Road Car Park. Both car parks can be parked in for up to a maximum of 2 days at a time (£8 for 2 days) and via the RingGo App - RingGo Cashless Parking Solution (myringgo.co.uk)

Please note that this property does not have suitable facilities for charging electric vehicles, however an Osprey EV super-hub is less than 1 mile away.

Included: Bed linen and towels (guests must provide their own dog and beach towels), electricity and water.

Internet and Telephone: Wi-Fi available free of charge. There is no landline telephone available but mobile reception is generally good with some providers, although please check with your provider prior to booking.

Pets: 1 dog welcome. Pet charge £30 per week.

Buckfast Abbey is just over a mile away and Ashburton and its many amenities (including a leisure centre, outdoor pool, supermarkets, shops, restaurants and cafes) is just 4 miles away.
