Isle of Whithorn is a lovely village to spend a peaceful holiday with its picture postcard scenery and a small selection of amenities to make the most of. Whithorn itself is nearby, offering a wider range of shops and restaurants. Further afield sits the Galloway Forest Park for you nature lovers, boasting great walking, cycling and scenery to take advantage of. The Moorings is a lovely apartment in a beautiful little village.
Known as the Isle of Whithorn, this village is actually not an island, but a small village on the Scottish coast in Dumfries and Galloway. Amenities in the village include two pubs/hotels, a Post Office/general store, and a harbour. There is so much history in this area, from iron age forts to 11th century churches, and standing stones to castles built by Robert The Bruce. The 'book town' of Scotland, Wigtown, is a few miles away from the village, and the rest of lovely Dumfries and Galloway is on the doorstep.

I did have to check this was dog friendly as the apartment was immaculate! It felt freshly painted, smelled very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Also Thank you for the little doggy hamper and leaving milk and biscuits which was very welcome! The Pub next door does lovely meals and a selection of larger\ales to enjoy. This has to be the cleanest Dog Friendly apartment we have ever stayed in!! Highly recommend!!

For 2 people roomy. Chairs by table not comfortable and Wi-Fi only available outside by next door pub inconvenient.
