About this property

Ystrad Wen is new to Sykes for summer 2024 and is a beautifully presented holiday cabin perched in the heart of the stunning Welsh countryside, outside of the quaint village of Newbridge-On-Wye in Powys. Surrounded by standout views of the countryside and positioned away from the noisy roads and towns, Ystrad Wen is the one to pick for a memorable retreat. When you arrive, you will feel instantly at home, with the open-plan kitchen, dining and living area which is full of everything you could need from a well-equipped kitchen, sophisticated dining seating and a sitting area with a Smart TV so you can keep up on all your shows while you are away. Decide between dining indoors or choosing to dine al fresco under the stars, a perfect choice for a romantic meal for two. After spending the evening soaking in the warmth of the hot tub and gazing at the stars, make your way back inside and freshen up with either a hot shower or steaming bath in the freestanding bath in the bedroom, then put on your comfiest pyjamas and cuddle up on the sofa to watch your favourite movie on the Smart TV. Ystrad Wen lies in the heart of some of the most unspoilt scenery in Wales, you are surrounded by traditional hay meadows and areas of woodland, parkland and wet pasture leading down to the banks of the River Wye. The Cambrian Mountains are the undiscovered heart of Wales, an area of outstanding natural beauty which offers wild empty spaces, from woodland walks to the more challenging routes that take you into the vast moorlands, one of the least visited spots in Wales you can feel that you have the place to yourself. For star gazers you must visit the Elan Valley Estate, an International Dark Sky Park, made up of 6 Dark Sky Discovery Sites and the perfect place to see the night skies at their best. Ystrad Wen is the perfect place to escape to. Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 1128627, sleeping up to 6 guests.

Situated on the meandering River Wye, Newbridge-on-Wye is a small and pretty village, just a short drive from lots of little villages and market towns, including the Victorian Spa town of Llandrindod Wells. The little rural community boasts a popular pub, village stores and butcher’s shop and is surrounded by the breathtaking Mid Wales countryside. Fabulous walking can be done in the Radnor Forest and just ten miles away are the fantastic Elan Valley reservoirs and impressive Victorian dams. Take a trip to Rhayader, a bustling Welsh market town with a selection of tea rooms, pubs, restaurants, amenities and unique little boutiques, including local antiques, as well as the added bonus of a leisure centre with a large swimming pool and a weekly livestock market. You can also visit Builth Wells, where the Spring Festival, Royal Welsh Agricultural Show and Winter Fair are all held annually.

The cabin was so comfortable, with beautiful views especially from the hot tub! Definitely booking again asap.

It exceeded our expectations! Stunning all round views, all you can hear is birds singing and little lambs bouncing about calling their mums , It really is very peaceful and quiet, we loved the accommodation, it was spotless and furnished to a high standard, it is huge for two people, the bed and the bedroom were the biggest we have ever stayed in, and the stand alone bath with the breath taking views was just stunning and so relaxing. The hot tub was just what we needed and big for just two people! And again the views, wow! We really appreciated the treats in the welcome basket. It was so perfect for our romantic getaway, we are so definitely going back! ❤️ Many thanks to the owners Banty, Rachel and family x

The views are beautiful, we loved everything about the cabin. All the little touches made it even better, the owners had even thought of the dog! Our dog loved staying here and watching the sheep across the hillside. I'd recommend waking up early and watching the sunrise over the hillside in front of the cabin. 5 Stars! Hoping to book in another weekend soon!
