"Lovely cottage/ building, good off road parking, shop nearby. Probably not ideal for the very young (due to an adjacent stream) or those with significant mobility problems (although there is a ground floor bedroom with bathroom)."

"We have just had the most amazing stay at the Chapel. The weather did help to make it even better. Beautiful location, it was easy to get to anywhere we wanted. The owners have turned this old Chapel into a lovely homely place to stay. The beds made you want to stay there all day! Everything was to hand that you needed, and a very handy co-op just up the road. I cannot recommend this enough as a delightful place to stay."

"We had a great stay at The Chapel. Plenty of room for everyone (and the dog!) The wood burner made it lovely and cosy. Great location in a beautifully kept, quiet village with easy access to Bath and Bristol. We had some pleasant dog walks through the fields too. Everything was spotlessly clean, the kitchen was very well equipped and we enjoyed sitting around the huge dining table playing the good selection of board games. Owners were very pleasant and helpful and the tea coffee, milk etc was much appreciated. We would definitely recommend The Chapel and look forward to staying there again in the future."

"The Chapel is a nice, family-friendly place to stay. It is spacious and nicely restored, and the kitchen is pretty well equipped. We had issues with the heat and a clogged shower and the owner came right over to help us. We appreciated their prompt attention. We enjoyed our time over Christmas there but felt there were a few things we should draw potential renters' attention to. First, there is no WiFi. We overlooked its absence in the listing which is our own fault. However, it should also be noted that there is also very poor or no mobile coverage. When in the house, we did not get reception (multiple carriers). We had to stand outside to use our phones, look up things online, etc. If we had known of this, we probably would not have stayed here. We have an elderly family member and the lack of phone service was a concern, especially when he was tired and wanted to stay behind while the rest of the family went in to town. Second, we understood we paid a premium for the holiday, but tacking extra fees on to our accommodation for heat was a bit of a slap. All told, we paid more than £1500 for the holiday week after the added heating fees. Sadly, telling people they’ll be charged extra for the heat probably encourages even more use of it than not. Especially after paying so much for the property. Renters should be advised to get their cash for the heat ahead of time as there is no ATM in Marksbury. Finally, despite getting pre-approval for our dogs, someone (not sure who) neglected to include (we’ve been told) that additional cost in our bill. Several days after we departed, I was contacted by the owner and told to pony up yet more money. I had thought the dogs were already included in the accommodation charge. Given that the bill is not itemized, I can only take the owner’s word that they were not. I am grateful to cottages dot com for their help on this."

"We really enjoyed our time at The Chapel and it is excellently situated for access to Bath, Bristol etc. The only issue was the lack of WiFi and internet signal. It made researching local attractions tricky."
