Once delicious aromas fill the air, gather around the dining table set for four guests.

After dinner, let the dishwasher take care of any mess left behind, then pick a leather sofa to unwind on. You can gaze out the window at the boats passing by on the river, or flick on the TV for a cushy movie night. In the evening, ascend the stairs to freshen up in the bathroom with a bath to soak in or a shower to rinse away the outdoors. Choose from a double bedroom or a twin to rest and rejuvenate for the night, both neatly presented. In the morning, enjoy a brew in the south-east facing garden with direct access to the river, dine alfresco in the afternoon, then admire the golden hues reflecting on the river as the sun sets.

Take a short drive to Norwich Castle, browse through the collection of archaeology, fine arts, and natural history, visit the dungeon or admire the views from the rooftop. For a trip steeped in history and stunning architecture, visit Norwich Cathedral, tour this Roman church dating back to 1096, admire the stained glass windows and grand stature as you walk across the grounds, then enjoy a spot of lunch in the cafe. Cotman Cottage is the perfect launchpad for exploring the Norfolk Broads, or simply watching the river drift by from your front-row seat.

Hoarwithy village is ideally situated between the city of Hereford and town of Ross-on-Wye. This pretty, meandering village nestles on the banks of the River Wye and boasts a lovely church, built in an Italianate style with a beautiful interior, a good pub with restaurant, Post Office and shop. The pretty hamlet of Carey is also nearby, offering a good pub/restaurant. The whole area is surrounded by stunning countryside and has excellent walking, cycling and birdwatching amidst the scenic Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and the Golden Valley. Explore Hereford with its wonderful 11th Century cathedral and famous Mappa Mundi world map and chained library, or visit the Cider Museum, How Caple Court Gardens, lovely Ross-on-Wye with its delightful riverside walks and even the Malvern Hills and Brecon Beacons.
