Dunstan is a friendly hamlet set in the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Beauty, only a mile from the picturesque fishing port of Craster, famous world-wide for its oak smoked kippers. It’s positioned mid way along this stunning 20-mile stretch of Heritage coastline, with its castles, rocky coves and huge sandy beaches, often virtually desterted. We loved staying in Lilac cottage. It was cosy and very well equipped. Location was excellent for accessing the beautiful coastline villages, beaches and castles. Also close to Howick gardens.Our hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Lilac cottage is a brilliant place to stay. Very well equipped and in a superb location for getting out and about in Northumberland.If you like preparing your own meals, the knives are beautifully sharp.There are games and jigsaws for bad weather.There is a pub/restaurant a few doors down.All in all, fantastic.
