"Cottage at Dockens Water is in an excellent location for walking. It has a cozy look inside but I found it a bit chilly when the weather is windy because there are draughts coming from window frames & under doors. Could also be cleaner.I loved the cottage & location & had an excellent holiday but I did find it a bit cold with the draughts!"
    Lee – 17 Nov 2018
"Fantastic location and cosy enough and comfortable. If you are an outdoor person and want walks literally on the doorstep, then this is the perfect location."
    Angela – 8 Nov 2018
"Really enjoyed our stay would recommend it to others"
    Carole – 31 Oct 2018
"Second stay here & already booked again! Quaint, comfortable cottage, fab setting amongst fields & fab walks. 2 pubs within walking distance, good food & dogs welcome. Only downside is the shower isn't great but that's not the end of the world. My favourite weekend hide away, love it!"

"What's not to love about this place? I've read the other reviews and they focus on the smell from the hoover and the fact there's no internet access... They've completely missed the point of this beautiful little cabin in the woods. Yes, it's basic and the internet access isn't fabulous, but it's an oasis of tranquility away from the rat race and the stress of modern life. It's meant to be back to basics. Just you and nature. If you want a five star hotel, book a five star hotel. This is LITERALLY a cabin in the woods: there's an abundance of wildlife; open stretching skies; miles of trails to follow and lose yourself; pubs galore if you know where to look... You wake up to wild horses at your window, for goodness sake. What more could you ask for? And as for the track that leads to the cabin - it's in the WOODS! What do you expect? Go slow. Take your time. Enjoy every second. There's no rush at Dockens Water. That is the whole point. Would recommend in a heart beat."

"This location is fine if you drive a four wheel drive vehicle. In my car the track leading to Dockens water damaged my suspension and caused sever problems"
    Mary – 1 Sep 2018
"We had the best time here and will definitely return. The owners and staff could not be more helpful. My little one cried because she did not want to leave ! So many beautiful sights to be seen. Perfect for the dogs. Swimming pool is heated. Sauna. Board games for rainy days. Everything we needed that we forgot was in the cottage. Owners dogs so cute. We did Peppa Pig world, riding at eastmoor stables and the zip line on Brighton pier which I recommend for families. Also recommend the tall tree trail near by to see the tallest trees in the new forest. Thankyou for a wonderful and relaxing week."
    Kelly – 18 Aug 2018
"The lady who deals with the bookings is a little off-putting, but the owner is lovely.A lovely lodge, comfortable beds, warm swimming pool, stunning views with wonderful surprise visitors. It could have been a little cleaner and it would have been nice to have a few welcome bits but I would still definitely recommend."
    Stuart – 5 Aug 2018
"4th consecutive year that we have spent a week here. Already looking forward to next year."
    L – 26 Jul 2018
"A very comfortable and well equipped cabin with amazing views across the plains of the new forest. Wild horse wander past. Cows visit.Very peaceful and private. The owners are really helpful and friendly. All in all an excellent stay."
    Vivien – 22 Jul 2018
"Amazing, peaceful and beautiful place. we will be back."
    Andrea – 1 Jul 2018
"Cottage is a wooden cabin and should be advertised as such ...bathroom was very poor ..not finished off to a good standard and the freezer part of the fridge was full of ice and needed to be de-frosted...on the plus side the location is fantastic ...you can walk off into the forest from the back door and the swimming pool was an added bonus as the weather was very hot ..."
    Gail – 22 May 2018
    "Stunning location, lovely property"
    Ann – 19 May 2018
"Cottage in a rural location but pub that does food a few minutes walk away. No signal for mobile phone and the internet connection is by satellite and a bit limited. Not really a problem once you realise that. Can be nice to be out of reach sometimes. Lovely to have breakfast looking out at the forest. The dogs loved it."
    Christine – 13 May 2018
"Lovely location good for trips out dog friendly hut not too our liking but hard too find one which does not include dogs!Well equipped"
