West Winnowing enjoys spectacular sea views and the house is within easy walking distance of a real ale pub, the Buddle Inn which dates back to the 17th century, serves food and welcomes families.

The village of Niton, a five to ten minute walk, has a chemist, post office/tea room, church, additional pub and a small well stocked grocery store. Niton also boasts historical links with Guglielmo Marconi who used the local Knowles Farm as a location for radio experiments when he was living on the Isle of Wight in the late 1890s and early 1900s.

Fantastic location & a great house, would have been 5 stars but unfortunately the property was not clean

1 star for fantastic location and views, 1 star for clean bed linen and clean bathroom, rest of house not cleaned in many months. Dog friendly should not mean filthy (can provide pictures as proof). Had to puchase speed mop and anti bac wipes and spend 2 hours cleaning before we could use the kitchen. I suspect the housekeeper is only given time enough to replace bed linen and has little time for anything else. Not their fault but will prevent me booking this property, and I am inclined to avoid Rural Retreats also. Sorry - poor overall.
