About this property

The Crest is a fantastic, contemporary holiday home sitting well above the cliffs at Tristram, overlooking the marvellous bay of Polzeath. With spectacular views from the balconies, far out to sea, and a well-maintained garden to the rear of the property, this light, airy and luxurious holiday home offers a balance between chic and practical, for a family escape to Cornwall. This beautiful property boasts large, bright spaces with high ceilings and stylish decor throughout, with plenty of space for up to ten guests. The Crest has been tastefully designed and has all the home comforts you might expect from a luxury dwelling on the North Cornwall coast; including sumptuous sofas and beds, beautiful bathrooms, generous balconies and a sleek yet practical kitchen. The decked balcony, accessed from the first floor, is an enchanting place to sip an evening drink as you watch the sun setting over the sea. Select between four bedrooms in the main home, offering plenty of space for your loved ones to rest, whilst an extra annexe bedroom with en-suite bathroom can be found in the garage. Tristram is an idyllic location from which to base your family holiday, far enough from the vibrant hub of Polzeath for peace and tranquillity, but only a brisk walk away from all its shops, cafes, pubs, and surf shops/hire/schools. Walking down from the house and onto the coastal paths will lead you around to the popular family beach of Daymer Bay, passing pretty coves and inlets, as the high cliffs around Polzeath disappear behind you. Rock and the glorious Camel estuary are a few miles further on foot, or a short drive in the car; boat charter, waterskiing and sailing are amongst the many waterside sports to be found here. Across the river in Padstow, where you can take a ride on a speedboat or a enjoy leisurely hour's cruising onboard the Jubilee Queen; You may be lucky enough to spot Puffins, Razorbills, Dolphins, or even enormous Basking sharks. All of this awaits with a stay at The Crest.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.

Last year I commented on the bed in the garage annex as it creaked whenever we moved and I was very pleased to see that the bed had been changed this year to a very comfortable and quiet bed, thank you! We had a lovely holiday and enjoyed our stay very much.

A washing line outside would have been useful. House was quite dusty especially in the bedrooms but kitchen and bathrooms were clean.

We enjoyed staying there very much and would book again. The views were fabulous and we enjoyed many fabulous sunsets. The only criticism I would have was the extremely creaky bed in the garage annexe which disturbed our sleep when either partner rolled over.
