Churchgate Cottage in Blisland, Cornwall, is a well-loved holiday rental praised for its cosy comfort, cleanliness, and prime location in a friendly village. Guests appreciate the proximity to local amenities, including a pub and shop, and the ease of access to walking trails. While most reviews are positive, a few mention concerns with dampness and maintenance issues.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be very clean and well-kept, with only a single mention of dirty kitchen utensils. The overall high standard of cleanliness contributes to the positive experiences of the visitors.
The cottage's location is highly praised for its peaceful setting in a picturesque village with a friendly pub and community shop. Its proximity to walking trails and the Camel Trail adds to its appeal, although narrow roads are noted.
Guests describe the cottage as cosy and comfortable, with a home-like atmosphere. However, there are comments about the need for more comfortable seating and difficulties with hot water, which slightly affect the comfort score.
Facilities are generally appreciated, especially the well-equipped kitchen and the information pack provided. However, issues with dampness, a missing DVD player, and lack of private outdoor space have led to some dissatisfaction.
While the reviews reflect a positive experience with the cottage's provisions and a welcoming atmosphere, there is no specific mention of gifts or special touches from the owners that would indicate a level of thoughtfulness. Therefore, a score cannot be provided.

The cottageâs central location in the village is perfect for accessing the much-loved and well-managed community shop as well as The Blisland Inn, which is an absolute gem of a pub serving top drawer beer and classic âpub grubâ - the cottage is also well-placed for days out across the whole county. Great to be back in Blisland after a gap of too many years - loved it!

The cottage was equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need. So welcoming! Plus when we arrived, fresh garden flowers and a tray ready for us to make tea. The beds were really comfortable, the living room too. We felt at home as soon as our bags were unpacked. And were sad to leave. Very much hope to return soon.

It would be appreciated if cottages could still provide a small amount of milk for that desperate cuppa, especially if you arrive late and don't know the locality. Sadly this practice seems to have ceased.
