Bluetit Cottage is perfect for a family with pets looking to holiday in the North Devon countryside. This eco-lodge offers a comfortable home-from-home with a good-sized open plan living kitchen and dining area on the lower ground floor.
Floor to ceiling windows allow you to make the most of those stunning countryside views. Open the French doors onto the patio to feel the full benefit of mature trees, fields and a river across the valley. Furnished with a table and chairs, the large patio gives you the perfect opportunity to simply relax. Back inside, the wood burner in the living area makes a great focal point and a cosy area for everyone to gather if the evenings get chilly. Up a few steps to the ground floor and you’ll find a choice of two bedrooms, both with en-suite facilities.
This is a peaceful, rural location and an excellent place for stargazing on clear nights but also boasts great access to the A377 from where you can reach Exeter in the south and Barnstaple to the north, and beyond. Head to the coast at Westward Ho! for a day on the beach, or take a walk with your dog along the Hartland Devon Heritage Coast.

We spent a week at Bluetit Cottage in August and had a truly wonderful time. The property was spotless on arrival, and our hosts were exceptionally welcoming.As someone who often holidays in Devon, I’m used to places being a little “off the beaten track” – and that’s part of the charm. We always plan our days so we can pack up and go, so the lack of nearby amenities didn’t bother us. That said, the comprehensive welcome pack with local recommendations was very helpful. Just a note for future guests: there’s nothing within walking distance, so a little forward planning for meals is advisable.Living in a busy and noisy town, we really appreciated the peace and quiet. The occasional passing train and the odd car on the road below did nothing to spoil the tranquillity. Early mornings and evenings were filled with birdsong, which was a real treat.One small piece of feedback relates to the garden. There was a partially hidden hole near the patio, which could pose a risk for children (or adults!) running around – we kept a close eye on ours to avoid any mishaps, but it would be great to get this filled in (if you haven't already). Also, a barbecue would be a fantastic addition (if there was one, we couldn’t find it), as we'd have loved to enjoy some alfresco dining and avoid using the oven.Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Bluetit Cottage. The kids absolutely loved it and still talk about it months later. We’ll definitely consider returning in the future.

Really enjoyed our 2 weeks at blue tit cottage well appointed everything we needed was in the cottage plenty of room for the 4 of us the owner is on site if you needed anything even had the use of a prime stick on the main tv nice touch was a welcome card,tea and coffee milk and a bottle of wine also the fire was ready to go with logs would not hesitate to book again
