Clare, officially the smallest town in Suffolk and one of the historic Suffolk wool towns, is situated in rolling countryside popular with walkers and cyclists. This picturesque location offers a good range of independent shops, pubs, restaurants, cafes and a country park (complete with castle ruins) all within easy walking distance. Nearby is the popular village of Long Melford, with two stately homes to visit, and Lavenham, one of Englands finest medieval villages and home to several highly regarded restaurants, is ten miles away. The attractive towns of Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury are within a thirty minute drive and the university city of Cambridge is within easy reach for a day trip.
