Riverside Cottage sleeping up to 4 guests

Overlooking the River Ribble, this cottage is great for walking enthusiasts, with the Three Peaks within easy reach.
Set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this character stone-built, 18-century, detached cottage enjoys a remarkable riverside setting on the River Ribble, in the quiet hamlet of Helwith Bridge. Carefully restored, it features a Juliet balcony accessed from the living room, which literally hangs over the waters. From here, you can enjoy the sounds of the river and the view over it to the Settle/Carlisle Railway line on the other bank, and, if lucky, spot the occasional steam train. This is renowned walking country, with the Three Peaks close at hand to challenge the most ardent of walkers, or for those not up to this, you can stroll along the nearby Pennine Way. The bustling market town of Settle is just 4 miles, here you will find a selection of individual shops, pubs and restaurants, together with a swimming pool and golf course on the edge of town. Alternatively, the Lake District is about a ¾-hour drive. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 25 yards.

    Ann – 19 Oct 2018
"The cottage was fine; really clean and very well equipped. We did find that the macerator--which dealt with all the waste--did smell a bit and this was particularly noticeable in the kitchen."
    Deborah – 19 Oct 2018
"The cottage is set on the river which is beautiful. Really sweet. The pub next door offers good food and allows dogs in which makes a big difference when holidaying alone. Lost points due to no welcome pack so make sure you have the basic essentials with you as the nearest shop is a 4 mile drive away. The sofas are functional and I understand size restrictions but not cosy. Other than these points the cottage is perfect for a holiday and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
    Elliot – 22 Jul 2018
"Great location and view from the balcony."
    Teresa – 11 Jul 2018
"The settees in the lounge were not very comfortable and neither was the bed. It felt a bit cramped and the bathroom fan was very noisy. It would have been better if there had not been builders next door. We were lucky the weather was good so we could be out. We wouldn’t have wanted to spend a lot of time inside."
    Angela – 27 May 2018
"Enjoyed our stay, particularly as Riverside Cottage is adjacent to the Settle/Carlisle Railway and is an excellent spot to watch the trains go by. Good internet reception."
    Elaine – 20 May 2018
"Lovely country cottage in superb location. Clean, warm and comfortable and well equipped. Great pub next door friendly welcoming and mine of information on locality.Only criticism ( and not vital when on holiday) very limited freeview channels."
    Laura – 8 May 2018
"Great stay would definitely come back. Ideal location"
    John – 28 Apr 2018

    Deborah – 28 Apr 2018
"We were amazed by this cottage, every detail was taken care of. Cleanliness was outstanding and even cleaning products were in the cupboard. Location and the views were perfect, on arrival before we even unpacked it was clear it's a definate must to stay here again. The price was good , we will be staying again hopefully this year thanks again.. Darran, Debbie (hull)"
    Robert – 23 Mar 2018
"Nice cottage in a nice position by the river"
    Kerry – 18 Feb 2018
"Would recommend. Open fire an attraction. Washing machine would have been ideal."
    Dean – 6 Jan 2018
"This is a lovely cottage that is very well presented and in a beautiful area of the country perfect for walking. The pub is literally next door but seemed a nice quiet pub and was a benefit not a disturbance. The mattress and bed are a bit too soft and it would benefit from a slightly firmer new matress but other than that we couldnt pick any faults and would definitely stay at riverside cottage again. Thank you for a lovely holiday :) x"
