About this property

Low Row 0.5 mile. This delightful, Grade II listed stone-built detached cottage has been converted from two original miner’s cottages, and is located high above the Swaledale Valley just half a mile from Low Row. Beautifully renovated to a very good standard, this lovely holiday home provides the perfect location for a country break for a large family in one of the most beautiful locations in the Yorkshire Dales. Styled and furnished in keeping with the age of the property, the cottage is full of real character and charm and retains many of the original features. The sitting room combines a lovely mix of modern furnishings with stone flooring, beams and a wonderful fireplace with a modern woodburning stove. A delightful farmhouse kitchen is a great place to sit and talk about the day’s adventures, with an oil-fired AGA and traditional styling creating that much sought after old world feel. A separate dining room with another woodburning stove provides a great place to enjoy dinner and plan tomorrow’s excursions. There is also a spacious utility room with a drying area and a small but useful kiddie’s playroom. Head up the stairs to discover five lovely bedrooms including a spacious family room with a super king-size bed and a day bed, two doubles, a twin and a single room, ensuring everyone is assured a good night’s sleep. All the rooms have plenty of character, old beams and lovely window seats to relax and admire the long distance views. Outside is a large country garden with furniture and children's play areas, overlooking the beautiful expanse of the valley below. A half a mile walk will bring you to the village pub, which serves fine ales and good food, whilst three miles away is the popular village of Reeth. The market towns of Hawes, Leyburn and Richmond and the popular attractions of Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater and Hardraw Force are all nearby and are well-worth a visit. Set in a small hamlet of traditional cottages, this superb detached family cottage boasts magnificent views across the valley to the distant fells, a great place to relax and one of those locations that will live long in the memory of visitors.

The small village of Low Row is made up of farms and cottages, located near the River Swale, in an area of beautiful, scenic countryside. The village of Reeth is close by, home to a triangular village green with a selection of amenities. Attractions such as Aysgarth Falls and Hardraw Force are within easy reach.

The house is huge, everything you could ever need was provided. The dogs loved laying by the fire and the window seats were amazing to watch the wildlife and just chill. Would definitely recommend.

The cottage was very spacious, warm, comfortable and well equipped and the owners were very accommodating - even supplying new baking equipment, as I previously mentioned that my granddaughter and I were looking forward to baking on the Aga.
