This beautiful stone-built detached cottage is located in a peaceful area of the village of Lastingham in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. With pictorial countryside views, this property is ideal for walkers, groups of friends and families interested in exploring the Yorkshire countryside. This charming property provides a sitting room with a warming woodburning stove providing comfort whatever the weather, plus it has a large dining area, the perfect spot to enjoy family meals, whilst the hallway even features a piano. The spacious fitted kitchen provides all modern amenities and has appealing views to the front of the house. Head upstairs to the three bedrooms, one of which has beamed ceilings, a feature fireplace and lovely views. Outside is an enclosed garden with outdoor seating, perfect for you to relax with a morning coffee. Take a short stroll into Lastingham to discover the local gastropub, whilst a short drive will bring you to Kirkbymoorside which has a wide array of shops, bars and restaurants. The area is ideal for cyclists. There are a range of local attractions including Rievaulx Abbey, Castle Howard, and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Pickering, plus there is easy access to the coastal towns of Whitby and Scarborough as well as the historic city of York. This cottage is perfect for a wonderful holiday all year round.

We (4 siblings) had taken mum away for a few days to spend time with her children altogether as Mum is terminally ill (cancer) she loved the Cottage , the warm cosy feeling it offers with the fire and plenty of room for us all. I think the Cottage could benefit from a tumble drier along with the washing machine. The weather was not on our side unfortunately very wet, with lots of muddy wet grass leading to the approach of the cottage entrance as there is no direct footpath, possibly some pavers or stone slabs inkeeping with the tradition of the village may be beneficial to avoid Muddy prints on the matts inside the entrance hall. The only other thing I would mention is replacing the shower curtain with a shower screen , it felt a little claustrophobic with curtain as it would stick to you upon moving arms etc.. I would definitely go back to stay at the Cottage and look forward to doing so also I will recommend to friends Michelle Olive (The Good Family)

Everything we needed was provided, the cottage was warm & cosy. Beds were extremely comfortable. Loads of really good info about things to do/places to go locally in the guide at the cottage. Location is great for popping out on to the moors and we really recommend using The Old School House deli in Hutton le Hole for grabbing essentials and for a spot of lunch if you do the circular walk from Lastingham. Grosmont station is worth a visit to explore the engine sheds-loads going on even though the trains donât run till Easter. Weâve all come home happily exhausted- we even managed to tire the dog out! Thankyou for letting us stay.

Cosy and warm, full of character and quirkiness. The owner had thought of everything to welcome the guest which pleasantly surprised my wife and friends. Logs and kindling for the wood burner in the lounge was a very welcome touch, this with central heating provided us with warmth after a day exploring the surrounding area. The ideal base for walking and photography in a beautiful village with the Blacksmith's Arms pub next door, friendly local people who made us feel very welcome. We had foggy weather for most of the week but that didn't deter us from roaming the area with easy walks to Hutton-le-Hole to name one. The 1000 year old crypt in St Mary's church a short distance away is a must to see and sense the history of the place. One necessary item needed is a torch as there are no street lights for miles around, luckily we took two, this adds to the atmosphere of Lastingham. Hope to return again.
