The village of Staxton lies near Wolds Way, 7 miles from Scarborough. A pretty street winds its way through the village, offering a butchers and a pub. Filey and Scarborough, with their beaches, are a short drive away, bird watch at Bempton or visit Malton or York with its Minster and Jorvik Viking Centre.

Scones on arrival were very welcome after our journey too! The cottage is nicely decorated and clean, with a well equipped kitchen. The only disappointment was the shower room, which was very small.

Ideal for visiting surrounding areas. Very comfortable bed and sofa upstairs is a good idea .It was our 2nd time staying, garden has been improved since last visit and is now seperately fenced which makes it safer for those with dogs.
