This converted granary is situated across a courtyard from a large Georgian farmhouse. It has been  furnished to a high standard retaining some original features such as wooden beams, deep set cottage windows and a fireplace. Newholm is a quiet hamlet just over two miles from the historic seaside town of Whitby and five minutes drive from the glorious sandy beach of Sandsend.

ground floor:

Kitchen/Diner: Fridge/freezer, electric hob and oven, microwave, washing machine, separate tumble dryer and dishwasher. Dining table and chairs. Stairs leading to the first floor.

Lounge: TV with DVD player, radio/CD player and wood-burning stove in feature fireplace.

Bedroom 1: French antique iron single bed, wardrobe and dressing table and drawers.

first floor:

Bedroom 2:  French antique iron king-size bed, built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers.

Bedroom 3: French antique iron king-size bed, single bed, built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers.

Bathroom: Bath, hand shower set, separate shower, toilet and washbasin.

Pets: Well-behaved dogs welcome.

Parking: Parking for two cars (three by negotiation).

Heating: Wood-burning stove in lounge and oil-fired central heating.

Garden: Enclosed garden nearest to the house , with a further area of garden leading from the car park.

Short breaks: Not accepted at peak times.

Notes: Towels are provided. A travel cot, highchair and stairgates are available upon request.

Newholm

Newholm is a tranquil hamlet that stands on rising grounds just one mile from the sea and sandy beaches at Sandsend, and only two miles west of Whitby. Early records have shown that jet-workers were carving the semi-precious stone at Newholm in 1614. Newholm has local amenities including a pub and a tea rooms which sells crafts and furniture. There is a golf course nearby at the end of the winding lane leaving Sandsend.
