The castle was built in the reign of King Stephen and has had a rich and varied history, making it well worth exploring. Peasholm Park has a beautiful lake where all sorts of boats can be hired from rowing boats to dragon headed pedalos, and visitors can while away the time messing about on the water. The pint of milk in the fridge along with teabags and coffee were really appreciated on arrival. There was enough space for everyone and we went as a family of 7. As a mum of a large family, the washing machine was worth its weight in gold. The only thing that would be beneficial which wasn't there is a washing line. We bought a line and made our own as I had quite a bit to dry. The pool and hot tub was a huge hit with all the family. The temperature of the heated pool was perfect. Really great holiday had by all.

We have stayed several times and would love to stay again. There are a few minor repairs needed such as the upstairs toilet seat and the door strip into the pool room, the showers in the property could work better but all in all a lovely place to stay.
