    Alison – 28 Dec 2020
"There could not have been a better way to spend Christmas! The cottage is so cosy and the owner has thought of everything. There was nothing I needed which wasn’t available. The log burner was so cosy and the beds comfortable. A lovely welcome basket was left for us which was a nice touch. The only downside was the parking but once we’d found a space we had no intention of going anywhere so that didn’t matter. We would happily stay again and would highly recommend it."
    Annette – 21 Oct 2020
"A fantastic home from home! Couldn’t fault it at all. Every thing is provided including a fabulous welcome hamper all of which came in useful (especially the lovely bottle of wine!) The log burner was a dream, our puppy’s first experience of flames, he couldn’t have gotten any closer! The location was perfect for a run on the green or a casual walk to the village. Would highly recommend a stay here, thank you for having us."
    Ann – 29 Sep 2020
"Visited Red Lion Inn 15 minute drive away. We went twice for an evening meal. The food and the service was excellent and at a reasonable price."
    Pauline – 12 Sep 2020
"Everything you could need is available at the cottage. Very clean and great location for travelling into York on the bus. The only issue is parking. There are a lot of properties with limited parking. However once parked up successfully I'd give the cottage 10/10 for EVERYTHING else"
    Sharron – 22 Jul 2020
"Lovely cottage. Excellent shower & towels.Fantastic welcome pack provided."
    Mark – 16 Mar 2020
"Lovely house, we loved staying there and is very quiet and homely. There was 4 of us and had plenty of room. Lots of shops, pubs and amenities right on your doorstep. Bus stop just round the corner to York city centre. Will be staying there next time we go to York."

"Second time in this cottage. Will definitely use it again."
    Linda – 29 Oct 2019
"I have stayed at the Cottage on the Green twice. On arrival there is a very well stocked hamper and the kitchen is equipped with everything that anyone could possibly need. It is located on the Green which is handy for a quick dog walk and there is a play area for the kiddies. Acomb, with a good selection of shops, is just a few short minutes away on foot. Tea on the Green, a dog friendly establishment, is just across the Green. Also, a couple of pubs. I have never found the street parking to be a problem. Will be booking again."

    Julia – 25 Aug 2019
"It was in a convenient location, shops and eating places extremely close. The dogs enjoyed the walks and the park opposite. It was comfortable and well equipped."
    Neil – 15 Aug 2019
"Excellent cottage! Fabulously spotless, good information pack and an above excellent welcome pack with bread, cheese, bread, bacon, eggs and more! Near a supermarket in walking distance, loads of amenities around the village of Acomb. And York is a lovely place to visit, so much to do. We walked our feet (and the dog's) of as there is lots to do every day! Thank you to the owners for such a great base."
    Gemma – 1 Aug 2019
"Lovely little place with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It felt like home and the addition of the welcome hamper was very much appreciated. It was in such a convenient location to go into the City and surrounding areas. This place will be our first choice when we return to the area."
    Kate – 15 Jul 2019
"House was very comfortable but found it difficult to find somewhere close at hand to eat. The green was amazing for my dogs very safe and people very friendly.Overall opinion I would definately use welcome holidays again but do more research into the surrounding area"
    Gillian – 29 Jun 2019
"Very good location, close to acomb shops. Clean house, excellent welcome pack, everything we needed was there. Log burner was an added bonus for cold evenings. The beds were hard, we like soft mattresses but that's just our own preference. On street parking is a nightmare, very hard to get parked outside the house, should be private for residents only. Otherwise happy with our stay."
    Raymond – 21 May 2019
"This was our third stay at the cottage which says it all really. Very clean, everything we needed was provided and a generous welcome pack too. In some places we have stayed there wasn’t even a pint of milk. This had lots of cleaning materials, handwash etc. Can’t think of anything we needed that wasn’t there. It was conveniently located for York and nice to walk around the green. We hope to stay again !"
    ROSEMARIE – 21 May 2019
"very nice cottage, very clean, dog friendly and very nice owner, the bed was a little too hard for us but that`s a personal choice"
    Rowena – 10 May 2019
"Lovely, well-equipped house in a quiet location near a good regular bus route into York. Spotlessly clean! We would definitely stay there again."
    Confirmed guest – 2 Apr 2019
"I say this for any pensioners staying at the cottage and enjoy going about by means of the bus.....unfortunately our Scottish pensioner bus pass is not excepted in York and or in fact anywhere in England......will not be returning to England. The cottage lived up to what all reviews said....but for me bus fares made my holiday more expensive than I thought it would be."
    Liz – 11 Mar 2019
"Our second stay at this lovely dog friendly cottage, generous welcome hamper, everything you could ask for at the property.Lots of buses into and back from York City centre, if you're feeling a bit frazzled after a long day you can go over the road for a curry at Indian ocean and a few pints at either of the pubs. Will definitely be back."
    Sue – 9 Mar 2019
"Can’t fault this cottage A special mention to the ladies who clean the cottage Excellent for dogs ? too"
"Our second stay at this cottage. It was a good location for us when visiting family. We stayed at Christmas which was obviously expensive but we knew it was very clean and handy for shops, large Morrisons and other local shops plus a dog friendly pub across the road. It is good for getting into York. Very clean, well equipped and the log burner was nice. The parking is on road but we always managed to park fairly close to the cottage."
"This is our second year staying in this cottage went at the exact same time last year mainly for the christmas market and to explore york. We booked again this year as we absolutely love it. It deffinetly feels like your going home to home. Spotless when you arrive welcome pack is amazing and you litrally have everything you need there. Even straighteners and a blow dryer for your hair. Now you don't get that in many places if any. You also have all the essentials you normally would bring with you already there it's amazing. I will deffinetly be returning next year and every year after if I can get the same dates around Christmas time. Would deffinetly recommend this place. :-) Jo"
"A lovely, clean and cosy cottage, in a very good location. There was a lovely park across the road where the dogs would be walked first thing every day. The owner left an amazing welcome pack. Lots of local shops and pubs nearby, also an excellent chip shop. A very good bus route into town, though most of the time we walked it as it was only 2 miles into York. We would definitely there stay again."
