"Had a fantastic relaxing time in a stunning location. We had 3 family units (10 humans) staying along with our 2 dogs. We were blessed with amazing weather during our stay .House was very spacious and well equipped for a large party. A very warm welcome from owner Allan. Who kindly had the fire on for us arriving. Highly recommend the village pub for dinner...YUMMY!! and the beautiful Portavaddie Marina for the use of the outdoor infinity swimming pool and hot tubs. We went twice!!"
"Cnoc Dubh was the perfect cottage for us. Lovely, unfussy, well fitted out, modern cottage (all on one level so ideal for Grandma in wheelchair) in gorgeous location, surrounded by private gardens (great for our dog) and with easy loch access for our kayaks. Emily and John were the perfect hosts, helpful and friendly - even providing us with BBQ coal when the weather was hot! We were very lucky with the weather and particularly enjoyed the outside dining table with views to die for! We all agreed this was one of our best family holidays."
    "Great house with fantastic views."
"Delightful house with great views. My father particularly enjoyed being able to wheel himself about in his wheelchair relatively unimpeded which he can't do at home. There are great local walks along the B866 and down to the shore from the house. Colintraive is a relatively short walk & the Hotel is good for meals. Didn't see any red squirrels but should have put out nuts on the birdtable. A good pair of binoculars is essential if you want to appreciate the finer points of the landscape and look for wildlife. You have a real sense of being in a unique location & privileged. Would love to return & recommend completely."
"Our family from both Sale Cheshire and our youngest daughter and her family from Wisconsin USA really enjoyed both the area , the cottage and the wonderful view. The owner John was most helpful."
"We had a lovely holiday! 12 of us stayed there for 4 nights and absolutely loved it."
"Beautiful location. Great house. Quite isolated with great views. Well equipped. We were lucky with great weather."
"Brilliant location didn't want to move, the view was beautiful. One of if not the best cottage we have ever stayed in.Thank you John for letting us use your beautiful house."
"we all really enjoyed our stay, the cottage was excellent. the only thing that i would recommend is another proper double bed, other than that everything was fantastic."
"Absolutely top location. Will definitely go back"
"We had a wonderful two weeks relaxing in and around the house."
"Would recommend this holiday home. Amazing location with stunning scenery. The home caters for all your needs. Ample space for us when 12 stayed. Great location for kids, walkers and cyclists."
"It was excellent, owner very friendly and approachable, log burner marvellous."
"Lovely house with a friendly host. House is a good size with large rooms, all clean and recently modernised. Beautiful location and views which seemed to constantly change. There are a couple of pebbly beaches you can use at the property. Owner's house is 200 yards further down the hill but it is all very private. It is a drive to other attractions etc but with a view like that why would you go anywhere? That said, the local pub is walkable in about 30 mins and does great food. We went in February but I imagine it is paradise in the beer garden on a midge-free evening. Thoughtful inclusion of things like washing up liquid and toilet rolls made using the property easier. "
"Cnoc Dubh met and surpassed our expectations for a wonderful New Year break. It is a lovely, comfy, cosy house, perfect for a large party, offering a very high standard of amenities. The location is simply breathtaking and the stunning views can be enjoyed from magnificent windows along the front of the house and the spacious verandah. The owner was warm and welcoming and eager to ensure all our needs were met for a happy and comfortable stay. We fell in love with this place, will certainly go back and highly recommend it to any party looking for a peaceful stay in this beautiful and wild part of Scotland."
"Brilliant rental property, stunning location and well equipped. Owner was friendly and considerate and even checked whether we needed a Christmas tree - nice touch. We have already recommended this property to friends."

"Fabulous property, good location which was central to local attractions although remote so had to travel daily. The view from the property and locally were spectacular. We were two families staying in the cottage, there was plenty of room for all of us and for the children to have space to play. The owner was very welcoming and provided fresh veg from his vegetable patch. We throughly enjoyed our stay."
