With generous, light-filled interiors and a wood burner, it makes a comfortable base for a group of seven to explore County Mayo. Walk just 1 mile from here along a country road to reach the stunning, open Doona beaches, which are popular with walkers. It is four miles from Ballycroy National Park and visitor centre which holds a Gold Tier International accreditation for its Dark Skies. Mulranny and Bangor villages are approximately 10 miles from the cottage. Golf nearby in Mulranny or Belmullet. Great days out include Ballycroy National Park, walks on the beach, fishing, Westport town, (including Westport House and Gardens), a climb of Croagh Patrick, Clew Bay, Ceide Fields, Achill Island, Erris and for the rainy day, Mulranny Hotel leisure centre. Explore the rugged countryside or cycle on the Greenway, which stretches from Westport, through Mulranny to Achill. Bicycles can be hired locally.
