The village of Ballysadare is less than three miles away and features many shops and pubs, plus the county town of Sligo is just beyond and has many services including a wide range of restaurants, shops, a cinema and a theatre, or why not enjoy the thrill of the Gaelic games at Markievicz Park before taking a stroll along the Garavogue River? The glorious coastline of the Wild Atlantic Way is just a few miles away with superb beaches at Strandhill, famous for its watersports, and Culleenamore which hosts an annual pony race across the sands. Head west for Dunmoran Strand and the rolling dunes of Enniscrone and yet more walks through the impressive mountains and north for Rosses Point, Mullaghmore and Bundoran. There are a variety of superb golf courses in the area and the scenery of Lough Gill, Benbulben and the Dartry Mountains are not to be missed. You’ll soon see why the poet, W.B.
