Stow-on-the-Wold remains one of the Cotswolds premier hot-spots and has much to offer visitors. The very attractive marketplace offers a range of independent traders from antiques and home wares to fabulous locally sourced produce with a traditional butchers as well as a cheese and even a chocolate shop! With a variety to tea rooms, coffee shops and pubs, all tastes are catered for. Other popular Cotswold towns and villages such as Bourton-on-the-Water, Burford, Broadway and Chipping Campden are all within easy reach.

  • The cottage is set within the heart of Stow-on-the-Wold and within easy walking distance of the shops, restaurants and pubs.


  • The Slaughters and The Barringtons are two quintessential, quiet Cotswold villages nearby, with uninterrupted country views over the Windrush Valley and some pretty footpaths and bridle paths.




  • Bourton-on-the-Water is a very popular and pretty village where you will find Birdland, The Model Railway and the Cotswold Motoring Museum.


  • Fresh local produce can be found at the renowned Daylesford Organic Farm Shop and the farmers markets in Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold and the WI market in Chipping Norton are all within close proximity.


  • Other local attractions include Bibury Trout Farm, Sudeley Castle and Snowshill Manor and Lavender Farm.


  • Further afield, Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, can be found and for theatre-goers, The Royal Shakespeare Company in picturesque Stratford-upon-Avon is a 45 minute drive away.


  • If you love the outdoors, just the other side of Moreton-in-Marsh Batsford Arboretum awaits: perfect for an autumn stroll when the canopy is ablaze with ripening hues and the garden terrace café provides the perfect excuse for refuelling. As well as plants for the garden, you can also indulge in a spot of retail therapy at the shabby chic Applestore or admire the wood turners and glass artist’s work.


  • For families with little ones, a visit to Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park is a popular choice for a day out: children love getting hands on with the baby chicks and rabbits, meeting the piglets, bottle feeding the lambs and goat kids, meeting the farmyard animals, and enjoying a tractor safari around the farm. There is a lot to do for all ages (young and old!).
