8 miles north-east of Cirencester, 10 miles south-west of Stow-on-the-Wold, and around 7 miles from Burford, Northleach is conveniently located off the Roman route, the Fosse Way (A429). Once upon a time, Northleach was a bustling market town, renowned all across Europe as a significant hub in the Cotswold wool trade! The affluent wool merchants of the town's time, in the fifteenth century, funded the construction of the town's current Market Square and the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul by digging a quarry in the area. The village has been featured in several recent films, most recently in 2015's "Casual Vacancy."
