Corfe Castle, part of Enid Blyton’s inspiration in her Famous Five novels is just a short drive away and with it’s castle ruins and stone village cottages is a beautiful place to visit.

You will be spoilt for choice of activities from the white knuckle rib raider rides, kayaking and sailing, to the more sedate pastimes of eating delicious fresh seafood.

Little Ivy is the perfect place for a couples or small family retreat to the Jurassic Coast.

West Lulworth boasts the most dramatic geological features on the Jurassic coast line and arguably the most photographed locations in the UK is Durdle Door. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door sit side by side at the heart of this area and really are a must visit. Lulworth Cove has many little café’s and beach side shacks serving local seafood, ice cream and other delights, as well as several restaurants and pubs from which to choose. There is an Lulworth estate information centre which offers an insight into how the cove and Durdle door were formed and Jurassic history of the region. If you tire of Cove and cliff top walks then Lulworth Castle is a short drive away and offers another glimpse at some more recent history, along with Tyneham Village, and Corfe Castle. A short walk to Lulworth Cove, a pub directly next door and a good place for exploring the pretty part of Dorset and it's attractions. It is such a shame that this pretty thatched cottage is grubby and poorly maintained inside. I understand that a listed building comes with it's problems but much could be improved. Little Ivy has had many positive reviews and there are many who may accept the condition it is in. It would be so different if it was mine.

The cottage really needs a power shower and a thorough clean throughout, the cottage was clean enough when we arrived but the sofa and chair could do with a clean/freshen up. The beds were too high and duvet too heavy. The garden I believe was advertised as private, as pretty as the garden is, this is not private! I would recommend the cottage but obviously point out the shower and garden situation and also the parking is very narrow but understandable considering the width of the village
