As soon as you enter Swallows Nest, you will notice that wonderful attention to detail has been made to the interior design of this delightful accommodation. Adjacent to the owner’s home and set over a garage, this property has a large entrance area with seating and storage, and is the ideal place to kick off those walking boots after a long day exploring. The light and airy staircase leads to the upper floor, which boasts a well-stocked kitchen with dining table, a large welcoming bathroom and a spacious bedroom with a comfortable sofa to snuggle up on. Outside, there is a charming courtyard with furniture for the warmer months. This sheltered, sunny spot is a heavenly place for alfresco dining whilst taking in the breathtaking views all around. There is also 3-acres of land opposite the property, ideal for enjoying an evening walk with your four-legged friend.
Swallows Nest is set in an excellent rural location, and is the perfect base for walking and exploring the Peak District. The many attractions in the area include Arkwright Mills, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and the lovely market towns of Bakewell and Matlock. The village of Crich (known as Cardale in the hit TV series ’Peak Practice’) is full of character and history, and boasts a number of shops and several pubs. There are walks around the village, and trams (the village is home to the National Tramway Museum) move up the valley to some of the most beautiful views of the Derbyshire Dales. Matlock, 7 miles, offers a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as attractions such as Gulliver’s Kingdom. Magnificent views down the gorge can be enjoyed from the cable car that takes visitors up to the Heights of Abraham, a great place for all the family with its show caves, nature trail, water gardens and Owl Maze. South of the town is the start of the High Peak Cycle Trail, whilst nearby Carsington Water offers fantastic watersports. Fishing and golf are also available nearby. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
