The first of two sitting rooms overlooks the garden and stream, its leather furniture and wood burning stove making it the perfect place to sit and relax. A second sitting room or snug also has a wood burning stove and TV. Perhaps a secret snooze is in order. The kitchen/dining area is a good size and has everything needed to prepare a hearty breakfast or evening meal. Large windows and fabulous garden views from the dining area make it somewhere guests will linger to enjoy a drink while planning the day ahead. Just south of Hawkshead village, between the Lakes of Windermere and Coniston, Beck Cottage is perfect for walkers, mountain bikers and those wishing to relax far from the madding crowd. Grizedale Forest is not to missed, and with a car-ferry crossing the lake to Bowness and Windermere, cinemas, shops, water sports and restaurants are only a short distance away. Also nearby is the village of Near Sawrey and Hill Top, the home of Beatrix Potter.
