This property enjoys an idyllic location in the Lake District, less than one mile from the edge of Lake Windermere, the largest of the region s lakes. One of only a few properties in the Lake District recognised by Visit England given a 5 star Gold rating .There is plenty to see and do both on and around the edge of the lake, including the towns of Bowness and Ambleside, the country park at Fell Foot, numerous water sports, leisurely cruises, and of course scenic walks. There are also a number of interesting properties and heritage sites in the area such as the Lakeside Wray Castle, Beatrix Potter s home Hilltop and Dove Cottage, the former home of William Wordsworth. The area is also known for the range of outdoor pursuits on offer and there are a number of adventure centres nearby which offer the chance to have a go at climbing, canyoning and ghyll scrambling amongst other activities.
