The Cumbrian beauty spots of Windermere (14 miles) and Ambleside (13 miles) are similarly worth a trip out in the car, whilst Grizedale Forest (7.5 miles) is your go to spot for thrilling adventure with its Go Ape! centre, hectares of woodland and foraging wildlife to spot.
