The Southern tip of Lake Windermere at Newby Bridge (3.7 miles) is also close by, where you can enjoy a steam train ride, which meanders to Haverthwaite, you can also embark on a Lakeland steam cruise from the jetty here to popular Bowness and Ambleside, which has The World of Beatrix Potter among its many attractions.
