The Old Rectory in North Tuddenham is a highly praised holiday rental, celebrated for its beautiful setting, spacious and well-appointed rooms, and extensive grounds with leisure facilities. Guests have enjoyed memorable celebrations and family gatherings, appreciating the property's charm, warmth, and the thoughtful touches provided by the hosts.
Most guests found the property to be well-maintained, though there was a single mention of fridges needing cleaning upon arrival. This appears to be an isolated incident rather than a recurring issue.
The location is consistently praised for its tranquility and proximity to local attractions, making it an ideal setting for a peaceful retreat with the convenience of nearby activities.
Guests have reported the house to be warm and homely, with plenty of space for large groups to gather comfortably. The presence of a real fire in the drawing room adds to the overall comfort.
The property boasts well-equipped kitchens, a tennis court, and a table tennis room. However, there were minor issues with an oven and dining room heating, suggesting room for improvement in maintenance.
Guests have expressed gratitude for the welcome hamper and the helpfulness of the housekeeper. While such gifts are greatly appreciated, they are a gracious gesture and may vary with each stay.

The Old Rectory in Norfolk is a luxury self catering holiday home which stands in its own parkland next to the church surrounded by open countryside, a mile from North Tuddenham. The original rectory dated from the 16th century and the poet William Cowper stayed here when he first came to Norfolk. It was replaced in 1852 by Rev Barry, younger brother of the architect of the Houses of Parliament, who designed it himself. The holiday home has been refurbished to provide a luxury self catering venue for family gatherings. It is easily accessed from the A47, half a mile away.
The Old Rectory is set in idyllic surroundings with grounds covering 12.5 acres. There are large areas of lawn interspersed with mature shrubs and trees. The grounds also include a west facing terrace, ideal for summer barbecues, a pond (this has been fenced making it childproof), and a children's football area with two goals. The Old Rectory is an ideal outdoor holiday break with its own wood: a pathway marked by an avenue of yew trees which leads to clearings planted with bluebells, foxgloves and primroses and ideal picnic spots.

The house was just right for our family group of 13 from ages 11 to 75. The drawing room was a comfortable space for gathering in front of the fire, the dining room was ideal for our birthday celebration dinner, the kitchen and breakfast room were great for cooking and serving meals, the additional fridge in the utility room was really handy for drinks and extra food storage and the bedrooms were lovely. We made use of the tennis court, football goals and the table tennis. The snug was a cosy space for small groups and some being able to watch a football game on tv without having to subject everyone to it! The views over the grounds were beautiful and peaceful. There was a problem with the temperature of the shower and also heating in the dining room but Zoe came promptly to resolve the problems. We would recommend The Old Rectory to anyone and would happily return.
