The seaside town of Cromer has been a popular destination since Victorian times and whilst the fishing industry has declined over the years, the town is still famous for crab fishing. Cromer Pier is home to the rnli lifeboat station (free to visit) and also The Cromer Pier Show, which is the only end of pier show of its kind in the world. Cromer beach offers peaceful and picturesque walking at any time of the year. The sea is great for a dip to cool down in hot weather and at low tide, you can explore the rock pools.

The nearby resort of Sheringham has an array of attractions for all the family and is headquarters to the North Norfolk Steam Railway which runs regularly during the summer months. Also close by is the Heritage North Norfolk coast which offers sandy beaches, rspb reserves, expansive salt marshes and the popular coastal path for excellent walking. Boat trips are available all year round to Blakeney Point nature reserve and the basking seals.

If you were to travel further afield, Wroxham, 20 miles, offers the chance to explore the rivers and waterways that make up the Norfolk Broads. Also, Norwich, 23 miles, is a fine historic city offering a wealth of activities to suit all tastes. A trip to Norwich Cathedral should be top of your list of ‘must do’ experiences as well as Norwich Castle Museum. Norwich Theatre Royal offers a varied programme of musicals, dance, drama, family shows, stand-up comedians, opera and pop throughout the year. Beach 250 yards.
