The private garden has a great entertaining space with a barbeque and a small orchard beyond, so take a good book and a glass of wine and relax in the sunshine. There is much to do in the area; take a day in the elegant, nearby Georgian town of Holt with its antique & art galleries, independent shops and cafe culture or head to the stunning coast, which is adorned with beautiful beaches, pretty traditional fishing villages, and marshland rich in wildlife. The area is rich in farm shops, stop at Back to the Garden on your way to Holt, and good pubs and restaurants. The village itself hosts the well-renowned annual Thursford Christmas Spectacular and also has an intriguing Steam and Fairground Museum. The coastal town of Wells-next-the-Sea is just a few miles away and has the most fantastic sandy beach, backed by pine woods and the Victorian clifftop town of Cromer offers golf, coastal walks, year-round end of Pier shows and so much more.

Golden Lion Barn was a great place for a family stay. The property was very comfortable and well equipped, and is only 20 minutes from Wells Next The Sea and Holkham. Despite the weather in March being quite cold, the house was always a comfortable temperature. The enclosed back garden is perfect if you're staying with a dog, and the entrance to the front is also enclosed. The kitchen had everything needed, and there is plenty of space for preparing meals. The original roof timbers add great character to the property, and the tallest member of our party only bumped his head once! :) There are supermarkets that are 15 minutes away, which is also very handy.

Incredible accommodation, we truly loved our stay at the Golden Lion Barn. Facilities were of high quality, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We would definitely book again in the future.

house was clean but want a deep clean ,house was plagued with flys stickers on doors and window but electric fly killer required car park small for 2 cars but overall we had a good holiday
