With a sunny garden, games barn in the converted dairy, Sky Sports/WiFi and an open fire, it has everything you could wish for in a holiday cottage. Surrounded by glorious North Norfolk countryside there are lovely walks from the front door (including around Sheringham Park which is 5-minutes walk) and has the beaches just two miles away. A true gem of a dog-friendly retreat!

Teddy's Retreat is an attractive holiday cottage in a countryside setting that provides a warm welcome for up to four guests and five dogs! Exceptionally pet-friendly, the pretty cottage is a popular choice with couples, families and friends and offers characterful accommodation that is cosy with an open fire, appealing all year round with a sunny garden and BBQ seating area for relaxing, and practical with solid wood floors throughout so you can relax and enjoy your stay. Modern conveniences include Sky TV and WiFi and there is also a games room for some good old-fashioned fun in the lovely old flint converted dairy with table tennis, snooker, football table and seating.

Teddy's Retreat is a gem of a cottage and ideally placed, sitting amongst the glorious countryside of North Norfolk with plenty of walking opportunities from the front door. There is a good pub (dog friendly!) within a five minute walk and the beach at Sheringham is only two miles away (with a dog-friendly zone between the months of May to Sept). Sheringham Park is sure to get those tails wagging and is a five minute walk from Teddy's Retreat.

This beautiful part of Norfolk has an abundance of attractions and great days out. Browse the independent shops in Holt and hop on the Poppy Line and take-in the scenery enroute to Sheringham (dogs are allowed on most trains). Say hello to the seals at Blakeney National Nature Reserve; tuck into a crab supper at cromer and pay a visit to Holkham Hall (dogs are most welcome in the park). The walk between Holkham Hall along the beach to Wells-next-the-Sea is also a must for the holiday itinerary with plenty of places in Wells to refuel before walking back under the shade of Holkham Pines.

Other popular attractions include the estates of Sandringham, Blickling and Felbrigg Hall with beautiful gardens and numerous beautiful beaches including Hunstanton. There are certainly no shortage of great days out when you holiday in Norfolk!

Accommodation comprises:

Ground floor

  • Entrance porch with space for boots, coats and dog beds (which will also fit underneath the stairs).
  • Cosy sitting room with two comfy leather sofas set around the flatscreen TV (with Sky Sports and DVD player) and open fire - just perfect for relaxing after a long walk in front of the flickering flames with your favourite tipple. Fleece dog blankets are thoughtfully provided by the owner and there is a drop-leaf dining table that can be pulled out and used with chairs.
  • Bright cheerful kitchen with tiled floor which is well equipped for self-catering with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge with ice box. A window lets the sunshine flood in and provides a nice view over the patio and garden.
  • Stairs (with plenty of storage space underneath) take you up to...
  • Upstairs

  • Double bedroom with a pretty Victorian cast iron bed, bedside cabinets with lamps and chest of drawers. There is a large cupboard for storing clothes and nice views across the south-facing garden.
  • Twin bedroom which is equally as attractive with lovely views across the garden. A chest of drawers between the beds and cupboard provides plenty of clothes storage.
  • Bathroom with freestanding slipper bath, wash basin and WC - perfect for a long soak at the end of the day.
  • Outside: The south-facing garden is a sun-trap and lovely place to relax and alfresco dine. There is a seating area with table and chairs outside the kitchen and also a BBQ area with table and chairs beneath the loquat tree. The old converted dairy is now a games room with snooker, table tennis, football table and seating. There is a hose for washing muddy paws and space to store bikes in the garden. Off-road parking available.

    Additional information: Up to five dogs are welcome by prior arrangement with the owner at an additional charge. The cottage is centrally heated throughout. Prices include heating and electricity. Guests to bring bed linen and towels. Sorry but no short breaks.
