A beautiful cottage located in the heart of Middleton-in-Teesdale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with plenty of waterfalls and walking country to enjoy. Immediately adjacent to Hudeshope Beck, Oak Cottage is the perfect property for a relaxing break, as the gentle sounds of running water can be heard from the cottage. Whether you are bringing along the family, or spending some quality time amongst friends, Oak Cottage is a one-of-a-kind retreat not to be missed. Stone built, and close to the river, you will be welcomed by a kitchen/diner which houses a breakfast bar, all with the added warmth of underfloor heating and natural lighting. There is a lounge to cosy up in after a long day, sumptuous sofas and a woodburning stove create a lovely atmosphere for relaxing with your favourite movie on play. Follow the quirky steps and exposed stonework to the next floor, where you will discover a snug featuring a selection of books, and floor to ceiling windows. Perfect for some time away from it all, whilst the children enjoy the warm and homely games room. You will be spoilt for choice between the bedrooms on offer; all are presented to the highest of standards, with their very own TV and original beams. The master suite is an excellent addition to the cottage, together with an en-suite shower room, matching that of a hotel quality. A wonderful family bathroom finishes the properties interior. The quaint market town of Middleton-in-Teesdale offers a range of shops, pubs and places to eat and is surrounded by superb walking country, with high open moorland as well as pretty, wooded valleys. Close by, Barnard Castle stands on the site of an ancient Roman fort, and the medieval ruins of the castle still tower over the river and are well worth a visit. Whilst there are an abundance of things to do on your doorstep, Oak Cottage is wonderfully located for visiting the beautiful Lake District, and the popular city of Durham which are both just over an hour's drive away. This lovely property provides a memorable holiday experience in a delightful location.
