Park your car outside and step over the terraced patio to be welcomed by a cosy living room, uplifted by a gas fire set on the wall and a TV for entertainment. Walk on through into the bright dining room, a pleasant space for you to settle down with your loved ones and enjoy a delicious meal. Next you will come to the kitchen, fully equipped with many appliances to assist you during your stay. Retire to any of the three bedrooms, consisting of a double, twin and single. Serving the bedrooms is the ample family bathroom with bath and shower over, so you can decide how to best prepare for the day. Outside is a small patio area which overlooks the rolling countryside, providing a peaceful spot to sit with a glass of wine and admire the view. The enclosed nature of both the front and rear garden also makes this property pet-friendly. Explore more of this delightful location by wandering the river banks and traversing the foot trails, stopping off for a drink in one of the local pubs along the way. A 10-minute drive will take you to the historic town of Bernard Castle, hosting a selection of antique shops, tea rooms and independent shops to browse. Further afield take a trip to the stunning North Pennines AONB, Yorkshire Dales National Park and even the Lake District, each offering their own attractions and an abundance of natural beauty. A lovely holiday home in a promising location.
This pretty village of Cotherstone is nestled by the wooded banks of the rivers Tees and Balder, within Teesdale in the south west of County Durham. Resting three miles upstream of Barnard Castle, with several listed buildings, a cluster of stone built houses and three village greens, this delightful location is superb for touring the beautiful North Pennines aonb and the northern region of Yorkshire Dales National Park. The village is sparsely populated by isolated farmsteads, boasts two local pubs and small shop, and a quaint village hall. Take a gentle stroll along the 6-mile Circular Walk from the Fox and Hounds on the West Green and enjoy the pleasant countryside surrounds and picturesque views along the way. Nearby Barnard Castle offers cobble streets, yards and back lanes, a 16th century bridge and castle ruins as well as a plethora of shops and bars. Further walking routes are right on the doorstep from here with the Lake District, the Pennine and Teesdale Ways, all within easy reach. Explore a rich area of beautiful moors, verdant pastures and historic architecture, all from a fabulous village base!
