It is situated just 250 yards from the local pub and restaurant and only 4 miles from the famous Metro Centre. It is ideally located for exploring all that Northumberland, Tyneside and County Durham has to offer, even Kielder Water, with its watersports and nature walks is only 38 miles away. It’s easy to catch a taxi straight into the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne, 7 miles, for those wishing to attend concerts at The Metro Arena or The Sage, saunter along the vibrant quayside, soak up culture at the Baltic or why not enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants on offer?
Runhead Forge is in a great spot for exploring the whole of Northumberland, Tyneside and Durham with easy access to many of the roads leading to the top tourist spots in the county. Day trips to Alnwick where you can discover the castle that the Duke still lives in and was used in Downton Abbey and Harry Potter are a must. A little further north and you will find the beautiful Heritage Coast with miles of sandy beaches and castles, along with friendly villages. Travel west to Corbridge only 16 miles and close to Hadrian’s Wall where you can stop at a Roman fort or carry on to The Sill, a great visitor attraction. For shopaholics, The Metro Centre, one of the greatest indoor shopping malls, with an abundance of eateries, shops and large cinema is only 4 miles away. Beach 16 miles. Shop 600 yards, pub and restaurant 250 yards.
