This attractive stone barn conversion is set on a former dairy farm with residents-only access from the road and is one of a small group of properties that are surrounded by wonderful countryside. The bustling border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed is nearby (2 miles) with a good range of shops, art galleries, bars, and restaurants. Explore the Elizabethan town walls, walk the Lowry Trail and play in the sand dunes. Take a train from Berwick for the forty-five-minute journey to discover Edinburgh or Newcastle. The unspoiled Cocklawburn beach (2.7 miles) is perfect for a long walk and picnic and cyclists can join the nearby Coast and Castle cycle route. Visit Holy Island (12 miles) and glorious Bamburgh Castle, Wooler’s shops and restaurants, walking, and cycling routes, (14.9 miles) close to the Cheviot Hills and the fabulous National Park and cross the border to Eyemouth and St. Abbs.
Step into this delightful, bright, and airy, open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area where you can all spread out to relax after your days out exploring this fabulous area. Unwind in the evenings with the warmth of the lovely wood burner while watching your favourite movies on Smart TV. French doors lead to the south-facing patio garden to the front so you can enjoy spending time indoors and outside in the warmer months. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything the family cook will need to prepare a range of meals, with plenty of space for food and drinks in the tall fridge and an additional fridge/freezer in the utility room where you will also find the washing machine and back door. Sit at the kitchen island with a drink or breakfast and for more sociable meal times there is a large dining table and comfortable chairs. There is a downstairs WC off the utility room, perfect for when you are spending time in the rear garden, and a cupboard with coat hooks for hanging your outdoor clothing. At bedtime, head up the iron, open-tread staircase in the lounge to the first floor for the three well-appointed bedrooms, each with plenty of storage for your things. There is a king-size with a Smart TV, a twin bedroom with a comfortable chair, and a generous super-king-size with an en-suite shower room and WC. The spacious family bathroom has a freestanding bath for a relaxing soak in bubbles, a separate refreshing shower, and WC.
Outside there are two gardens, to the front, there is a south-facing patio garden with garden furniture accessible from French doors in the lounge, and to the rear, there is an enclosed garden with trees forming a small wooded area with wildflowers, perfect for games of hide and seek for children and dogs. Enjoy alfresco dining sitting on the garden furniture. Relax with a morning coffee to watch the visiting birds and in the evening, gaze up at the dark, super-starry sky.
