Bamburgh 1.8 miles. Resting only a short walk from the stunning sandy beach at Budle Bay, Budle Bay Cottage is a great base for a family looking to explore the Northumberland coast. Be welcomed into a homely sitting area, where a woodburning stove is settled into a green feature wall and encourages you to get cosy and enjoy a glass of your favourite beverage. The kitchen/diner has all of the amenities needed to cook up a storm, and you can enjoy them on the dining table near large windows allowing for countryside views. Freshen up in the bathroom before settling down for the night in one of the two bedrooms, a double and a twin, both with storage and homely décor. Budle is a lovely location on the outskirts of the bustling seaside town of Bamburgh, with a fantastic sandy beach only a short walk from the property, so why not head down to the beach and enjoy a walk in the salty air or even try out watersports? For a meal out, head over to Bamburgh, where you will find a selection of eateries as well as a wonderful deli serving local produce, and another amazing sandy beach for you to enjoy. In addition to this there is the amazing Bamburgh Castle, towering over the local scenery and allowing for amazing views of the coast and countryside beyond. Enjoy a quaint getaway to the coast with a stay ta Budle Bay Cottage.
The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
