Guests consistently praise the Old Mill, Branton cottage for its comfortable and well-equipped accommodations, excellent on-site facilities including a swimming pool, games room, and tennis courts, and its beautiful Northumberland location. The property is described as cosy, homely, and perfect for families, with the added charm of free-roaming animals and a nearby restaurant, The Bosk, that offers delightful dining experiences.
The cottage received high marks for cleanliness, with guests noting it as 'exceptionally clean'. No negative comments regarding cleanliness were mentioned, indicating a very high standard maintained at the property.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and convenience for exploring Northumberland. The only drawback mentioned was the distance for one guest, but this is subjective and not reflective of the location's quality.
Comfort is well-regarded with the cottage described as 'comfortable' and 'homely'. Some guests found the mattresses too soft and the dining table uncomfortable, but overall the sentiment is positive.
Facilities are a highlight, with the pool, gym, tennis court, and games room frequently mentioned. There were minor issues with a shower and kitchen equipment, but these did not significantly detract from the overall experience.
While the reviews are positive about the property and its amenities, there is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, so it is not possible to score this category.

Overall very good.

This was a lovely property which suited our family group well. The property was warm, beds were comfortable and it was well equipped. The bonus of having access to the pool, tennis court and games room was great especially for the kids. The Bosk restaurant is really nice but isn’t open every night, I’d advise booking if you want to go. We had a couple of small issues but Richard replied to me straight away with suggestions eg when the tv wouldn’t work. Only thing to note is that there is an upstairs property with squeaky floorboards - didn’t bother us at all and wasn’t a problem but if there were noisy people up there it might be an issue. Overall a lovely comfortable property, great value for money in a beautiful area so would stay again

We had an amazing break, very chilled , just what we needed, the cottage was well equipped , cosy and very comfortable, with the added benefit of a swimming pool and a games room, which bought out the competitiveness of our teenager daughter and my husband ‘snooker wars”, Zak the Labrador loved the walks . We will be back
