Located on the outskirts of this picturesque village at the North end of the beautiful National Park, known as College Valley in Glendale. There is a range of walking, hiking, and cycling trails from the doorstep, including Yeavering Bell and the village hall is a designated Dark Sky Discovery Site. The bustling town of Wooler has a range of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants (5.6 miles) and visiting fabulous Ad Gefrin, the English whiskey distillery and visitor centre is a must-do. There are great walks from Wooler, including a section of St. Cuthbert’s Way. Explore Kelso’s market town (15.5 miles) on the Scottish Borders and enjoy a day at the races. Discover historic Berwick (17 miles), and Holy Island (22.2 miles). Explore the coast and magnificent Bamburgh Castle (21.3 miles).
Enjoy the tranquillity of the location when staying in this warm and welcoming cottage with stunning views of the local countryside and beautiful hills from inside the property, as well as from the front and rear gardens. Enter the cottage via the courtyard door and enter the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with dual-aspect windows. There is a cupboard to store your walking boots and hang outdoor clothing. The lounge window at the front provides a fabulous view of Yeavering Bell and St. Gregory’s Hill on the edge of the Cheviot Hills. After your day’s adventures relax and unwind on the two comfortable sofas sitting in front of the cosy wood burner, and there is a Smart TV for a movie night indoors. The kitchen/diner is well-equipped with everything you need to make a range of delicious meals and snacks. Enjoy sociable mealtimes and activity planning sitting together at the dining table. The king size and double bedrooms are located on the first floor, both with high ceilings that enhance the sense of space and light, plenty of storage space, and wonderful views of the hills. The bathroom completes the accommodation.
Outside, to the front of the cottage, there is an enclosed garden with garden furniture where you extend your day in the fresh air admiring the stunning view while dining al fresco. There are often lambs skipping around in the fields and the area is within the official Dark Sky Park for unforgettable evening star gazing. At the rear, there is an enclosed courtyard with bench seating where you can sit to take off your walking boots and an outside tap, for washing boots and dogs paws. There is a second enclosed garden at the rear with more garden furniture and more lovely views.
