Chestnut Cottage in Northumberland receives high praise for its comfort, cleanliness, and welcoming atmosphere. Guests appreciate the well-maintained hot tub and the property's proximity to local amenities and attractions. The village's friendly vibe and the cottage's homely feel contribute to a delightful stay, with the hot tub being a recurring highlight.
The cottage is consistently described as spotlessly clean and well-maintained, with only a single mention of a smell possibly related to pets. The high standard of cleanliness contributes significantly to guests' overall positive experiences.
The location is generally appreciated for its proximity to local pubs, shops, and attractions, with the village described as friendly and well-situated for exploring Northumberland. However, one review mentioned the proximity to a main road and associated traffic, slightly impacting the score.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of the comfy beds and homely feel. A few comments about wardrobe space and heavy duvets during warm nights suggest minor room for improvement in this category.
The facilities, including the hot tub, are generally praised, though some guests noted a lack of crockery, cutlery, and outdoor furniture. Maintenance issues like boiler problems and a broken gate were mentioned, indicating some areas for attention.
