A 200 year old stone cottage near the small town of Wooler. This property lies amidst farmland on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. The Scottish Borders are only 11 miles away.
A really lovely cottage in an elevated position on the border of the Northumberland National Park with fabulous views over the surrounding countryside. Dating back some 200 years and sitting at 400 feet above sea level, this delightful 2 bedroom cottage sleeps 4 people. One of our favourite features of the property is the spacious sunroom and large garden with views to the Cheviot Hills. Inside, the living room benefits from an open fire, TV and DVD, a cosy and welcoming room with a feature wall showing a map of the area. The sun room doubles up as a dining room, a lovely room with sofa and dining table with settle and chairs - what a fabulous place to sit and take in those stunning views! The kitchen has all the usual appliances including electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The bedrooms have a cottagey feel and are nicely furnished with wooden frame beds and chests of drawers.
The Heritage Coast is just 12 miles away, a hotspot for ornithologists and wildlife enthusiasts. History buffs will love the English and Scottish castles and country houses including the innovative Alnwick Garden. The area offers excellent hill walking and mountain biking. It is 0.5 miles from the St Cuthbert's Way long distance walk, Melrose to Holy Island. The Scottish Border is just 11 miles. Wooler (1 mile) has an excellent Tourist Information Centre Golf, horse riding, fishing and mountain bike hire are all available locally.
