About this property

Located at the centre of the seaside town of Workington in Cumbria, a short distance west from the magnificent Lake District National Park, rests this charming, two-bedroom townhouse, 17 Brayton Street. Set over three floors, this lovely property boasts well-presented interiors, as well as superb positioning to nearby shops, pubs and restaurants, making it a great choice for a family or group of sharing friends who are seeking a relaxing, fuss-free escape near the Cumbrian coastline. After parking up, step into your delightful new home-from-home, where you will find an array of tastefully-laid out living spaces. At the heart of the house, a fully-equipped kitchen/diner complete with a large range cooker and dining table serves as the social hub of the house, where delicious meals can be prepared and enjoyed. When you feel like relaxing, kick back on the sofas in the sitting room, indulge in a book in the conservatory, or take a glass of your favourite tipple outside into the rear garden to toast your getaway. When sleep calls, head upstairs to refresh with a rejuvenating soak in the lush Jacuzzi bath, before you finally hunker down for well-earned slumber in one of two inviting bedrooms. When you're ready the next morning, lace up your shoes and head out to explore what your local area has in store. A walk into Workington will take you to Marks and Spencer, where you can stock up on essentials; the Royal George that serves traditional pub grub; the historic landmark of Workington Hall, as well as the rushing, cool waters of the River Derwent, which runs right through the town centre. For a full day out, head west into the Lake District National Park, where you and your loved ones can spend time roaming the serene greens of the Mirehouse & Gardens, enjoy a unique experience in Keswick at the Puzzling Place, or even enjoy an idyllic boat cruise along the waters of the awe-inspiring Lake Windermere. Enjoy all of this and more when you book a stay at 17 Brayton Street.

On Cumbria's west coast, Workington is a historic market and port city located near the River Derwent's mouth. Five churches, two theatres, a variety of shops, bars, and the town's history, which dates back to Roman times and includes forts built on the coast as coastal defences, are also present. Curwen Hall is an impressive ruin that was once constructed around a pele tower from the 14th century and served as Mary Queen of Scots' last refuge in Scotland before she was put to death. The marine museum located on the cliffs in adjacent Whithaven provides information on Workington's industrial past. More recently, the town was recognised for producing high-quality iron ore and mining. With the Solway Firth and its declared Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the west and the Lakeland Hills to the east, the western portion of the Lake District National Park may be reached in less than 30 minutes by car. a great starting point for discovering the Cumbrian coastline.
