About this property

Nestled on the edge of Whitemoor Lake, in a very secluded location, sits this charming Swiss log cabin, Whitemoor Lodge. Sitting within the grounds of Whitemoor Estate with access to over 800 acres of moorland and woodland to roam at your leisure and set over the ground-floor, Whitemoor Lodge is a welcoming retreat for couples looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. After occupying the off-road parking space, take a set of steps down to reach the lodge. Step into the open-plan living space, boasting a homely feel with wooden features and an alluring open fire. Allow the house chef to get acquainted in the kitchen, appointed with an electric oven and halogen hob, microwave and fridge, so you can rustle up hearty meals after a busy day. Opposite to the bed is a glorious freestanding bath, affording stunning views of the lake, whilst there is also a shower room if you’d prefer a quick rinse. Climb into the king-size bed, complete with a chesterfield headboard, and start dreaming about the adventures to come. Prepare a cold drink and step out onto the veranda, collapsing on the bench or taking over the large barbecue facility and rustling up a grilled feast. Guests at Whitemoor Lodge are provided with fishing rights. The local village of Salterforth is a delightful holiday base, home to a welcoming pub, the Anchor Inn, where you can treat the group to a tasty meal, whilst the convenience store is handy for picking up the essentials. Visit the Thornton Hall Country Park, an award-winning leisure attraction with a choice of rides and a working farm, while the Pendle Heritage Centre offers a museum, a wallet garden and an attractive tea room, both ideal for an afternoon out. Those looking to get their fix of outdoor adventure can spend an afternoon exploring miles of the Forest of Bowland and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, each boasting breath-taking scenery and hidden gems, including Scaleber Force Waterfall, Stepping Stones Bolton Abbey, and Stocks reservoir. The mighty Yorkshire peaks can be found nearby; why not try to summit Pen-Y-Gent, Whernside and Ingleborough? Make memories together at Whitemoor Lodge.

A convenience store is also available for picking up necessities. For those who enjoy the outdoors, there are many beautiful walking and cycling trails in the area. The weather was truly awful other than one day which was a shame as we like to get out and about with our dog. It really didn’t matter though, as we could not of chose a more special retreat. The open fire here has probably never been so well used, as we hunkered down in a perfect cabin, set in the most beautiful of surroundings. We really did have a very memorable Christmas. Can not recommend highly enough.

Surrounded by the most beautiful views outside, the cabin itself is cozy, clean and comfortable. The hosts provide everything you could want and go out of their way to ensure a five star stay. If you’re in need of a break from hustle and bustle, I couldn’t recommend Whitemoor Lodge more!
