About this property

The Shiningford estate provides peace, privacy, and picture-perfect views. The holiday rental is spread across three beautifully converted buildings. The Manor House, Stables, and Tack Room sleep up to 35 guests in 16 gorgeous bedrooms. Five acres of grounds include manicured lawns, orchards and paddocks. There is also an outdoor swimming pool, two hot tubs, and two barbecue areas. It's an excellent venue for your self-catering holiday, hen weekend or family reunion.

Shiningford is in a little-explored but gorgeous part of Derbyshire. Just outside the Peak District, on the edge of Carsington Water, this stunning Grade II listed country manor house is an incredible self-catering venue or holiday home for large groups. Use it for a summer holiday or Christmas with your extended family. Book it for your hen weekend or as a peaceful location for a productive team-building event. The property has three parts to accommodate 12 to 35 people, including a swimming pool and hot tub.

Guests love the peace and beauty of this setting. The house sits on five private acres with panoramic views in all directions. You only need to walk to the end of the private driveway to access the footpath and cycling trail around Carsington Water. You don't need to bring your bike because they're available to hire at the Miners Arms, a fantastic pub and restaurant just under a mile away, and the Carsington Water Visitor Centre.

There's no need to leave the grounds of Shiningford unless you choose. There is plenty of space to relax and play. The owner can help you organise extras like a casino night with a professional croupier, karaoke, a mobile climbing wall, archery, and bushcraft skills. Cocktail classes, treasure hunts, and private gin or wine-tasting sessions are also possible. Treat yourself to a massage, facial and manicure, keeping your nails perfect by hiring professional caterers for buffets, picnics and sit-down meals.

This region is bursting with fun activities and attractions. It's easy to plan an outing to suit everyone. Arrange rowing, canoeing, windsurfing or kayaking on Carsington Water. Alton Towers is only half an hour's drive from Shiningford, as is Chatsworth House. The Peak District is as beautiful below ground as above, as can be seen at Blue John, Poole and Speedwell Caverns. Crich Tramway open-air museum, Haddon Hall, Monkey Forest, and Gullivers Travels are more suggestions for a day out.
