Roaches Cottage is a superb little cottage in an absolutely incredible location under the dramatic 'Roaches' stone edge with stunning views in all directions. The uniqueness of the setting is only matched by the cottage's lovely interior where quality decoration and furnishings complement lots of traditional features like the beamed ceiling, exposed stone walls, stone flagged floor, Belfast sink and glowing log burning stove.
As you sit on the cottage patio and marvel at the views down the valley it's hard to imagine that Leek with its splendid Victorian buildings, cobbled streets and mill shops is only a few miles away. Just a little further will take you to super towns and villages like Bakewell, Buxton and Hartington. You are also ideally placed to visit the world famous Wedgewood, Spode and Royal Doulton potteries.
For even more exiting days out how about Tittesworth's lake and nature trails, a barge trip along the Caldon Canal, a steam train ride from Cheddleton or visits to all the nearby National Trust houses and halls. If I then mention the scrumptious meals in the nearby Rock Inn or Lazy Trout pubs you will appreciate that I am describing a pretty fantastic holiday cottage and location.
