Resting in the Oakfield suburb of the popular town of Ryde, The Deckings is a delightful, pet-friendly cottage on the Isle of Wight. The property is within easy reach of the beach and local amenities, with a charming garden space for two couples or a family to enjoy a holiday by the sea. Admire the bright exterior of the cottage with quaint, blue shutters as you park in the off-road parking space. Be welcomed into the beautifully decorated sitting room with white furnishings, a plush blue sofa, which can become an extra bed, and an electric fire for snuggling up in front of the TV. Set the dining table for five in the dining room, surely to be the social hub of the house, with another electric fire for added warmth. The kitchen is just next door following a couple of steps down, where the group's chef can prepare home-cooked meals using the contemporary amenities. Why not make breakfast an alfresco affair in the rear, mutli-level garden? Your canine companion has a space to stretch their legs, whilst you enjoy this sunny spot with your morning coffee to plan the day's adventures; there's a convenient side access gate, so you can bring in bikes and dump muddy boots before stepping inside. You'll also find the shower room, handily located on the ground floor, to jump straight in the walk-in shower after a day by the sea, whilst your towel warms on the heated towel rail. As the night draws in, climb the stairs to the split-level landing, where to the left lies a twin zip/link, and to the right a double bedroom, both thoughtfully decorated with storage space and stylish furnishings. Accessed via the double bedroom, a couple of steps down leads you to an extra bedroom well suited for a young child to catch their rest. The Deckings places you just outside the vibrant centre of Ryde, where guests can laze along the sandy beaches, choose from a variety of shops and eateries, and enjoy a day at Peter Pan Funfair; take a swim in the Waterside Pool, swing from the treetops at Goodleaf Tree Climbing, or take to the water on Ryde Canoe Lake. Jump in the car and visit Sandown, with its beautiful beach, an abundance of fossils at Dinosaur Isle Museum, and plenty to see at Wildheart Animal Sanctuary, whilst the nearby Brading Roman Villa is a must-see for budding historians. Stop off at Newport for lunch on your way to Carisbrooke Castle, a striking medieval castle with plenty of historical stories to tell, before heading further into Isle of Wight Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Ryde, dubbed "The Gateway to the Island," is the largest town on the Isle of Wight and a famous vacation spot since the 1820s. This wonderful resort is now accessible to all thanks to regular boat, catamaran, and hovercraft services. There's plenty to see and do in the town and surrounding region, with a diverse choice of shops, taverns, and restaurants catering to all ages and interests, while the 6 miles of beautiful, gently sloping sandy beaches are ideal for bathing.
