Set back above the beach at Shanklin is the Melbourne Ardenlea Hotel, next to the beautiful wooded Chine Valley and thatched old village. Inside the hotel you will find a warm friendly atmosphere of a family run hotel. The beach below consists of areas of soft sand and flint pebbles backed by scenic cliffs which are accessed by wooded walkways and a cliff lift. The hotel offers a large indoor pool and sauna for guests to enjoy free of charge and a Jacuzzi which is coin operated. The lounges and bar are comfortable furnished and are the ideal place to relax after a busy day. Evening entertainment is provided most nights offering a varied programme of different acts. The bedrooms are spacious, many just recently refurbished with new bathrooms and soft fabrics. A number of our rooms enjoy partial sea views and each room is furnished to a high standard with every amenity needed for a relaxed and comfortable stay. The restaurant serves quality food in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. A very reasonably priced menu changes every day with irresistible homemade desserts.Special dietary requirements can be catered for if requested in advance
Directions to Melbourne Ardenlea Hotel
From Ryde take A3055 via Sandown to Shanklin. In Shanklin follow signs A3055 Ventnor (cliff lift & beach). The hotel is approximately 450m on the right.
By Rail - Station Shanklin, Isle of Wight. You can purchase a through ticket to include Wightlink passenger ferry which departs Portsmouth Harbour Station.
The ferry connects with the Island line railway to take you to Shanklin Station. The hotel is 5 minutes by taxi from here.
